Another Christmas Wish for Ferver Black by Marc Jarrod

Another Christmas Wish for Ferver Black by Marc Jarrod
Publisher: eXtasy Books
Genre: Erotic Paranormal, Holiday, Christmas

Review Copy Received from Author

Summary: Ferver Black was mortal. After living as a vampire for the last two hundred years, life was good. At least he thought life was good. Able to sleep at night and enjoy the sun during the day, it was shock and a morbid sense of reasoning that he missed being a vampire. As a vampire-cop, Ferver possessed powers and capabilities beyond mortal men. He had strength, sharp senses and speed to handle most situations.

Ferver may just get his wish to going back to being a vampire as fate forces him to turn once again. Is it force or unadulterated love for a woman?

Dakota’s Review: Marc Jarrod has done a wonderful job writing Another Christmas Wish for Ferver Black. My only wish is that I would’ve read the first book, Ferver Black’s Christmas Wish. I love how romantic and sweet Ferver is with his wife. This is a sweet romance that will satisfy the most insatiable romantic. The added dash of paranormal is a nice touch and this reviewer anxiously waits for another book with this sweetheart of a vampire and his lovely wife.

The only thing this reviewer can complain about is the length. I simply wanted more! I give Another Christmas Wish for Ferver Black Four and a half Delightful Divas.

Summary: Can Jayne convince Santa to take her off the naughty list?

Santa’s nephews have come to Crystal Falls to run a cookie business. If they fail, they’ll have to go back to the North Pole and fill their uncle’s black boots when he retires. But sick of toys, elves, and the North Pole’s influence, that’s the last thing Landon and Aaron want. They’re looking for love.

Jayne isn’t much for sentimental family holidays and she certainly doesn’t believe in magic. Working in the Crystal Falls post office, she is mystified when she handles mail bearing a North Pole postal mark.

When Landon and Jayne meet, their attraction for each other is undeniable, but will the truth about Landon’s life make Jayne’s a believer, or will it be his love that finally melts her heart?

Deb’s Review: Exiles from Christmas is just a wonderful Christmas story. I was so happy I was able to review this book.

The main characters were charming and delightful. Jayne the heroine of this book, made my heart reach out to her about her past. She has a steel heart. I was almost afraid that Landon would not be able to reach her.

Landon, the hero of this story, with his charming smile, had me believing in Santa Claus. I was glad to see that he was not a straight-lace kind of guy; it made the story even better.

The secondary characters are just as wonderful. The youngest brother Aaron… oh, what a devil; he was absolutely charming.

What a way to end the book! I want Aaron’s story, please, Ms. Sookoo. He needs to be wrapped up by the right lady. I won’t say too much so as not to give the scene away, but I must say that Archie, even as a secondary character, stole my heart.

Exiles from Christmas is a bright, fun-loving short Christmas story that I am sure anyone who enjoys reading these types of books will just sigh over. Sandra SooKoo is a true delight to discover.

Summary: Josh is happy being a beat cop in a small Vermont town. He has his life partner, Garrison, their dog, and a wide group of friends and family, even though he hasn't spoken to his blood relatives in years.

Then Josh gets called back home to Ohio right before Christmas, when his sister tracks him down to inform him that his father passed away weeks ago. He arrives in Ohio to find that the requirements of his father’s will regarding the family business have everyone in an uproar. Lucky for Josh, he has a live-in lawyer at hand. He just has to come up with a solution that satisfies everyone, including himself.

Autumn’s Review: Cornerstone is one of those stories which makes you think about what you have in life. While it's a nice story about reunion and family, J. Rocci needs to work on showing and not telling. Other than that, this is a lovely little story with a nice happy ending.

Nice: The Longest Night by Dianne Fox

Nice: The Longest Night by Dianne Fox
Publisher: Torquere Press
Genre: Erotic, GLBT, M/M, Christmas

Summary: Years ago, Gray and Vale were punished by a jealous mentor, and now a curse keeps them apart for all but a single night each year. When dusk falls on Winter Solstice, Vale steps through a tear in the seam of the world and tells Gray that he has a plan to break the curse. For the plan to work, though, everything has to happen at exactly the right time, and when a key component of the plan fails, Gray is left with the certainty that Vale is lost to him not just for the year, but forever.

Kathy’s Review: This story tugged on all the right heartstrings and Dianne Fox is now an author whose books I’ll be searching out. The basic story theme is tried-and-true, but one of which I’ll never tire: Two lovers kept apart by a vengeful and jealous person, usually who wants one of the pair. But this is one of those themes that is, to my mind, timeless and rich in potential. In The Longest Night by Ms. Fox, the promise has been marvelously fulfilled.

I have to say that I didn’t expect the story to go as it did; but that just makes the ending all the sweeter. And yes, I’ll say it—after all this is a romance and a Christmas one at that—of course there’s going to be an HEA... but for a while there, it was debatable. And really, it’s amazing what some authors can do with a short, short story. At 9 pages The Longest Night is very short, but Ms. Fox created sufficient background for the lovers and a present that is exciting, heartbreaking and, ultimately, satisfying.

Now, if only we can revisit Gray and Vale at some future date. I’ll be so on it if Dianne Fox continues on with what she started in The Longest Night.
